The parrot didn't study. It just kept talking.

SaluTalk started with a simple observation: nobody learns their first language by memorising tables. A parrot never studies grammar — it listens, repeats, gets it wrong, tries again, until the sound is its own. We built SaluTalk to be that loop, with two things a parrot doesn't have: a coach who fixes one thing at a time, and native speakers who actually want to talk to you.

Here is the whole product in one breath. You pick a language and a chatmate. You send an imperfect sentence — that's the whole onboarding, one word of greeting is enough. Every message you send comes back struck in red where it slipped, fixed in your colour, and explained by Sara, our coach, in a single line you can actually read on a phone screen. You say the clean version back. Streaks and XP mark the habit, but they are part of the loop, not the point of it.

Around that loop sit the things that make it stick: matched chatmates in twelve languages, quiet voice rooms for people who aren't ready to be put on the spot, short readings tuned to your level, and a safety model where blocking and reporting are separate actions — because a learning space has to feel safe before it can feel fun.

Where the project is today

SaluTalk is in early access. This page, the product preview and the early-access list are live; the app itself is being finished for web, iOS and Android. The preview is honest about what is real: the early-access signup stores your email for exactly one purpose — the launch email — and everything else you see that looks like app data is labelled as an example.

When the app opens, the free plan stays free forever: three corrections a day, matching, one quiet room a week. Paid plans are bought one 30-day block at a time and never auto-renew — we think a language habit should outlive its subscription, not depend on it.

We are a small team of language nerds, engineers and one very loud parrot. We are not hiring for named roles right now — the product comes first — but we read every note that arrives through the early-access list.
